Be going to
It is going to rain.
(It is certain. There are clouds in the sky so there is visible evidence.)
We use be going to:
- for plans and intentions for the (near) future.
He is going to buy a bike this summer.
She is going to Greece next month.
- when there is evidence that something is going to happen in the near future.
It is going to rain.
He is going to throw the ball.
Look at that tree. It is going to fall down.

We form the affirmative with the verb to be ( am,is,are), going to and the root of the verb.

We form questions by putting the verb to be before the subject pronoun.
They are going to eat out tonight.
They are not/aren't going to eat out tonight.
